Rune of Mirkwood
There were some excellent questions raised at The Forum recently; I’ve decided to submit some input on them:
Thorin and Company were composed of 13 Dwarves who traveled to Middle-Earth to seek revenge on Smaug, the Dragon, who destroyed their kingdom at the Lonely Mountain (Erebor) , but it was refounded by Thorin II. There is no mention of the Elves nor of Legolas.
Thror possessed at one time, one of the Seven Dwarf Rings – in fact, it was one of the first made and the last recovered by Sauron. Thror inherited this Ring through the years, originally from King Durin III and passed it onto his son, Thrain, who dwelt many years as an exile. One day, he set out on his own but was captured by the spies of Sauron, and the Ring of Thror was lost forever.
Aragon’s first son’s name was Eldarion – apparently, there is even mention of unnamed daughters/sisters, but nothing much is known of their lives, except that Eldarion became King after his father died.
Shelob is suppose to be in The Two Towers – she is a major character in the Two Towers, with poor Sam and Frodo tricked by Gollum into her liar – thank goodness, Frodo has the Vile of Light that the Lady Galadriel gave to him to use in “dark places”.
