I can usually answer most questions my family has about Lord of the Rings. But one has really stumped me. I don't even know if there really is a good reason, but if any one has any ideas, please tell me. Why didn't Gandalf and Frodo just jump on an eagle and fly to mount doom and drop the ring in it? Especially when the flying nazgul weren't around yet. And the eagles come at the end to mordor anyway to help fight and rescue frodo. So, does anyone have any reasons?
