Justice to Durin's Bane
Middleearthfan

This is not another "wings" post, rather the longing for cinematic justice to the Balrog. Were Balrogs not the elite of all the Dark Forces of Middle Earth? Were they not of the same order of Suaron, and did they not serve and protect Melkor himself as well as lead his minions? Yet in FotR, we see not the the Balrogs abilities for spell casting, nor do we the fear instilled in the fellowship. Do not get me wrong, I love the depiction of Durin's Bane, but if it were not for Gandalf saying "RUN!", I get the feeling Aragorn would have just stayed in place and maybe strolled up and slapped him in the face. At least in the trailer we see P.J. has more footage of old D.B. and Gandalf, but will they do justice and will they show the fight that was put forth?

"Both survived the fall, and Gandalf pursued the Balrog for eight days through the deepest caverns beneath Moria. At last they came to the Endless Stair, and climbed the steps that led to the peak of Zirakzigil. There Durin's Bane fought its last battle - for two days and nights, the Balrog battled with Gandalf, but at last it was cast from the peak, and broke the mountain-side as it plunged to its doom." Now that would be kewl to see!
