By now problbly a lot of us know that in the extended DVD Elrond makes mention that the Elves have the power to reforge the 'Sword of Kings', so I think we can safley say we will see Aragorn going to town with it before the end of the trilogy. This is a purely cinematic drawing out of Anduril's intoduction though, Ashleigh. In the books Aragorn uses it freely fighting the wargs and in Moria, and openly reveals it to Eomer at their first meeting to establish his credentials.
