Re: Aragorn and Elrond
Lady of Rohan
In response to Feanor the Great,
Aragorn is indeed directly descended from Elrond's brother, Elros, although many generations lie between them. Aragorn is about 88 at the time Lord of the Rings takes place, and Elrond is not hundreds but thousands of years old.
As we saw in the opening sequence of the movie, Elrond was already great among Elves at the time of Gil-galad(he was his herald), Elendil, and Isildur--and that was at the end of the second age of Middle-earth.
If anyone knows Elrond's exact age, I'm curious to know it myself.
Cheers!
P.S. The gift set of the extended footage version DVD is DEFINITELY worth the extra money!
