December 8, 2002 Response to Christian Hobbit This is in response to Christian Hobbit about what you said about my Faith LDS. First of all you attack us for pollygammy. plural marriage was an active practice in our church. But it was done under the tightest circumstances and only allowed to men who were fouind worthy. And while were on it, Soloman and King David who were men of god had multiple wives. We no longer practice this plural marriage, and if anyone does and says they're mormon they are not. They are a breakoff of the morman church and no affiliation with us. And i am very aware of what the verse in Revelations says, Rev 22:18-19. But why dont you also turn to Deuteronomy 4:2, "Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God Which I command you." Now if God has commanded us not to add any more to these writings after only the fifth book of the Bible, where did the rest of it come from? Mypoint is, man shall not add to his word, but God can. All we added were more of Gods word. Nothing more. And last of all, we use the King James version of the bible. It was ordained that certain areas of the bible should be translated not changed. And once they were translated, they were not directly added to the Bible, they are kept seperate. And just so you know. There are alot of versions of the Bible. It has been translated by people thousands of times. And many people have changed it. So the word is not incorrect the translations are incorrect. And it is impossible to tell what people have changed in thousands of years of it's existence. And once again we use the Kings James version of the Bible. Just wanted to clarify that, and i'm sorry if anyone is in anyway offended by anything I have said. |
