Lately, on several different sites, articles about how Lord of the Rings is racist have been popping up. Personally, I don't think it is. Apparently, some people feel that since elves are described as having pale skin and Orcs as being dark that is insulting. I never go the impression that Orcs had human-like skin. I always pictured them having scaly or charred skin. Another person didn't like how the Uruk-Hai in the movie had what seemed to be dred-locks. I didn't notice that. Any thoughts?
