TTT First Reflections
Elrohir
I just got home from my first viewing of The Two Towers. My immediate reaction was that PJ has surpassed himself. Some fans may be in uproar considering the many liberties which were taken with the story.
I, however, feel that the changes made were probably necessary in order to keep the story moving along, and the liberties were not too excessive. If anything, I felt that the changes were even for the better.
Some of the things I liked: The conflict between Arwen and Elrond concerning her fate; the ambiguity of the fate of Saruman (so far!); that one shot where the Riders under Eomer and Gandalf ride down the hill to meet the remaining Uruks; Legolas's many feats which will have his female fans swooning on the ground; the list goes on and on.
PJ and his crew have done an amazing job with cinematography, editing and dialogue. Only once did I feel that the story lagged; this was during some inane dialogue between Sam and Gollum.
If you haven't seen the movie yet, get yourself down to the theater. The movie flat-out rocks.
