Eagles Again
Renee

Allright. About my eagle question. I kind of don't think there is an answer because Tolkien might not of ever thought about it. And I know, obviously it just can't be that way because then we wouldn't have the story, but still. But as for Sauron seeing an eagle, I'm not sure. I mean, Frodo and all those guys stayed in Rivendell all summer as scouts went out and looked around. All summer. They could have just immediately left on an eagle and taken Sauron by surprise. If killing orcs and a balrog doesn't get Sauron's attention, why would an eagle? I think it's just as stealthy. Maybe more. Especially if they did it right away. And the nazgul couldn't have done anything, I don't think. They were probably still trying to get there invisible selves back to Mordor without horses. As for armies on mount doom, would Sauron really have had enough time to get them there? I don't think so, but maybe. Anyway, I don't really care if there is an answer. I love the books. I'm just playing the devil's advocate (kind of fun). And I suppose this is one of those things that any theory for it works, because Tolkien had no reason.
