Aragorn's Age and Blanchett IS Galadriel
Razors
Was I too hard on Cate Blanchett? Maybe, maybe... But I stand by what I said - she just wasn't quite right to play Galadriel. Maybe she'll prove me wrong in the rest of the trilogy.
And no, Jamie C, I didn't mean that I wanted some "Liv-like model" to play the role. I'd prefer an actress, too - someone like Miranda Richardson, preferably, or Emma Thompson. Or possibly Jodie Foster or Madeleine Stowe. Since I'm from NZ and the Oscars have gotten me a little patriotic this week, why not Danielle Cormack or even Lucy Lawless (give her a chance to shake the Xena image)? I might even suggest Angela Bassett if I thought PJ could write in a logical explanation for Galadriel being black.
Question, though - are you anti-Liv Tyler just because she's nice to look at? Cause the girl CAN act, you know. Just be glad PJ knew better than to hire an actual supermodel. Picture Cindy Crawford playing Arwen for a moment... NO! IT'S TOO PAINFUL!!! AAAARGGHH!!!
