That Pointless Scene
Razors

Upon my second viewing of TTT, I was able to take a more objective look at the movie and something occurred to me. Was it really neccessary to include the scene halfway through the movie in which Galadriel verbally recaps the story and talks about what all the chief characters are doing? Was there any actual point to this scene, other than to give Galadriel a little screen-time? And if that's all it was for, then couldn't that time have been better used - perhaps by telling the story of how Gwaihir takes Gandalf to Lothlorien after his battle with the Balrog?

I hate to say it, but that scene (combined with Elrond's seemingly endless speech about why Arwen shouldn't wait for Aragorn) creates a big boring rut in the middle of an otherwise excellent movie.

Any thoughts?
