What I Would Have Changed
Wild Child

TTT seriously needed a prologue. The lack of this element left some viewers without a sense of why Rohan was important. Gandalf doesn't even mention Frodo, or where the direction of the quest now stands - or at least it's way too brief.

Gollum needed a bigger introduction also. Average non-reader fans don't know that he crept into cradles to steal and eat babies, nor do they know that he used to eat orcs in the misty mountains. I am affraid of Gollum when I read the books, but my fear of nonunderstanding fans is greater.

Saruman needed more screen time. As the established villain of this film he needed to be more pronounced. I think he had a total of 3 lines in the entire film? Also there needed to be closure with his attack on Rohan. We desperately needed "The Voice of Saruman" and the re-uniting of Merry, Pippin, and Gandalf & co. so that this section of the movie could come to a more defined end.

Scrap the Warg-Battle. Save that peice of crud for the DVD at least. It wasted a good 7 minutes of other elements that could have been put in from the book. It also made the movie way too action packed.

I'll submit more as I think of them... My break is over for now.

Cheers
