February 13, 2003 Return of the King Why does everybody think that Return of the King is gonna be so hurt by putting in the stuff that was left out of the end of Two Towers? You guys have to remember that Return of the King is the shortest book in the Lord of the Rings novels. Get hold of the book, get hold of the Two Towers book. Now find where the Appendices begin in Return of the King, and look at the actuall thickness of the book. Its smaller than Two Towers. Not to mention that the Scouring of the Shire isn't gonna be in the movie, so that frees up about twenty or twenty five minutes. It will all fit fine. So stop worrying. Peter Jackson said that Two Towers was gonna be the movie with the most changes, so I think Return of the King is definitly gonna be more faithful to the book. He also says that Return of the King is his favourite book in the series, so I don't think he'll do much to it. I'm really looking forward to it. Siege of Gondor is gonna be awesome! |
