February 17, 2003 TTT Review After seeing The Two Towers twice now, I must admit that I found a few faults in it. TTT does seem to drag on a bit, especially in Edoras, and how do those two kids get reunited with their mother when you so clearly see her getting hacked away at by orcs? Another thing that I noticed that I am sure all other fans did, it seemed a lot more Medieval than TFOTR. I do not think that this is what Tolkien wanted, but more like a crusades feel. The scene where Aragorn falls off the cliff, that is PATHETIC! For one thing, the Warg riders are not even supposed to be there in the first place, in fact, the only time i remember reading about them was in the Hobbit when the Dwarves, Gandalf and Bilbo had just escaped from the Goblin tunnels, and in the battle of Five Armies near the end at the Lonely Mountain. The Ents looked so damned stupid, i mean, what's with the 3/4 of the body legs? And I don't remember Sam and Frodo going with Faramir to Ogisgiliath, as well as Faramir was never supposed to keep them prisoners in the first place, he let's them go. Last of all, the Two Towers is supposed to finish with Sam falling stunned on the black gate of Mordor. I dearly missed the part about Shelob. I would d to see her. |
