March 28, 2002 In Response to John's Nazgul Rings Although you said that Gandalf stated that Sauron collected the rings to himself, I will quote a passage from The Fellowship of the Rings. This is Gandalf's response to Galdor's slight unbelief that Frodo's ring is the One Ring. ..."Yet it is a ring, what then THE NINE THE NAZGUL KEEP"... And he goes on to tell of the dwarfen rings and so on. Therefore I believe that the Nazgul do wear the rings but I would find it hard to believe also that they bore the token of the "Lidless Eye". (as a long shot Sauron could have also remade the rings or tampered with them as they did say fire belches from mount doom) |
