Response to Brett C.
Matt Mcnabb

Brett, you're right on several points. The part with Frodo is in Osgiliath may support the idea of the Ring going to Gondor (although I still disagree with the treatment of Faramir). You did , however, miss an important part of the book's plot. Pippin looking into the palantir wasn't what caused Sauron to act rashly. It was Aragorn who revealed himself to Sauron which incited him to hurrry the war on Gondor, believing that the heir of Isildur was assuming posession of the Ring.
