The 'Racist' Issue
Elf Girl

I recently read an article about the 'racism' issue that has been coming up lately on the message board. I feel that Tolkien did not mean to be a racist. It's not really the elves wit pale skin and orcs with dark skin that bothers me. It's the fact that LOTR does not include many things that are in the modern world. For example, all the characters are white. Why not include elves with darker skin or hobbits who are Mexican or something like that. Just a thought. If you have any other thoughts about this issue, please post!
