Glorfindel
C
This is just an observation, not an attack on PJ's portrayal of LOTR. Which I believe no other director could made as well.
In FOTR Arwen was introduced as the savior of Frodo when he was stabbed by the black rider. Where she outrides the nine riders. Though in the books Glorfindel shows up and tells the fellowship how he PURSUES two riders. Which means if the Nazgul fear him then he is a great warrior. He could have been added with Arwen introduced in another part.
Then in TTT at Helm's Deep the elves show up, and I think this was great for the movie. But if Elrond was the one who sent those elves, why was Haldir leading them. He is a marchwarden of Lorien, and I don't think Elrond was in search of a general. He could have used Glorfindel, one who led a force that destoyed the Witchking of Angmar some thousand years ago before Helm's Deep. Even though maybe PJ wanted to show someone die, he could have instead showed this great warrior fighting orcs like one of the best swordsmen there.
If you now the history of him, you see that he fought off a Balrog, and came back from the halls of Mandos. Glorfindel and Legolas could have put on a great dual battle scene. Where two of the best could have fought back to back throughout the battle.
Well, I guess this turned out to be more then a observation. But why not put in such a figure that could have been in either movie and played such a great role.
I'm sure everyone else probably has different opinions and will say he should have stayed in the books. But try to picture him in the movie.
Thanks to hearing me out.
