BBC Names Bush 'Servant of Sauron'
Dusty103

I have recently read where President Bush is compared to Sauruman by the BBC. "A new order will arise..." from the ashes of war. The implication is that GB is sending the United States' "orc army" to destroy the wonderful people of Iraq and establish his own kingdom, greedy for oil. The funny part is, the majority of Hollywood thinks in this vein. Some of the actors of LotR have been sucked into this, such as Viggo wearing a shirt saying 'no blood for oil.'

Do these people not read history? Do they not read the news? Do they not even know anything about current events? Did they miss the last twenty years of Hussein's reign? Blood for oil? President Bush just announced an initiative to convert our automobiles to Hydrogen power in the next twenty years. I'm sure his oil buddies are all thrilled with that idea. It seems many, in their hatred for the United States and all for which it stands, have 'forgotten' that Iraq is allied with Al-Qaeda and instrumental in the 9/11 attacks.

I am sickened that there are people in the world who are taking this movie and book and trying to twist them to their own wicked ends. The last I looked, Saddam and Saruman had the same purpose, their own dominating power through whatever terror and destruction is necessary to achieve their ends. To whom then is GB to be compared?

I do not object to people expressing their views. Ian McKellan was extremely overt at the Academy Awards in expressing his homosexuality. But I can differentiate between the actor and the character whom he portrays. He did not come forth and say that Gandalf was homosexual. Nor did Viggo come out and say Aragorn was anti-war. But there are those who would corrupt the LotR and say this is so.

J.R.R. Tolkein was not just a great writer and professor at Oxford. He was also a veteran of World War One and a Christian, being best friends with C.S. Lewis. His message in the LotR is as true and righteous as it is obvious, and Peter Jackson has held true to that message. "That there is some good in this world, and it's worth fighting for!"

Wormtongues abound in our world. It is upto us to stand against them and bring them out into the light and lift the veil that clouds men's eyes, exposing them in clear sight of the world. All I ask is that people learn the truth before they make their judgements. Ignorance is a weapon of the Enemy. Which is why we are warned to "Judge not, lest we be judged." Learn the Truth.
