Where is Arwen Going?
Happiscotsman

Just a little base assumption with no data to back it up...

Peter Jackson obviously was gunning for some type of "cliffhanger" when he gave the audience a last glimpse of Arwen leaving Rivendell with a group of elves in "The Two Towers". Now where is this group heading? Elrond's last words to her are "it's time to leave", and Aragorn tells Eowyn that he thinks Arwen has left for the Grey Havens. Now we know in ROTK, Arwen and Aragorn will wed, and also that she cannot go to the Undying Lands because once she goes there, she will not be allowed to change her mind and go back to Middle Earth. I also doubt that with the screen time given to Liv Tyler in the first two films, they will have her just wander around Eriador until Elrond finds her and says "Ok Honey, war's over! Let's get you married!" I have an alternate suggestion. How about if Arwen and her party replace the Grey Company? If you don't remember, this is the group of Rangers that come to Aragorn's aid for the journey through the Paths of the Dead. This company included the Sons of Elrond, who have NOT been shown so far (another minute bone to pick.) Since the brothers have not been shown, a party of elves have already shown up unannounced at Helm's Deep, and Arwen showed in FOTR that she too can wield a blade, her coming to Aragorn's aid for the defeat of the Cosairs of Umbar. If anyone else has another idea of what Arwen's destination might be, please feel free to disagree with me, as long as you have another explanation. It is just a small issue that has been bothereing me for a few weeks. "The Road Goes Ever On..."
