Non-blemishes
Curious George

You have to admit that there were some great elements in TTT.

The orcs, specifically the Mordor orcs were very cool in this movie. They were a huge improvement from the orcs in FOTR. The fact that we can hear them speaking intelligent sentences about eating Pippin's legs etc. has added a greater sense of fear. I didn't get that same suspenseful feeling from the FOTR orcs. They just kind of crawl and screech and look wierd.

Eowyn, who I thought was portrayed absolutely flawless by Miranda Otto; very graceful and princess-like.

The CGI armies were a big improvement from FOTR. I couldn't even tell when "Massive" was being used except for that scene when Wormtoungue sheds his tear and the camera pans out over the Uruk-Hai army.

The eerie sense of foreboding I got in this movie, and the emotions induced were different from that of FOTR. The opening scene with Eothen and his little sister fleeing from the attacking hords leaving their mother was very powerful. This film stands as a masterpeice. It gives us a glimpse of how scary war really is without being ultra-bloody and graphic. I really apreciate PJ's huge effort to make these movies PG-13, instead of R, and I know it must've been hard (especially if you've seen his other movies).

Some have complained about the music, and as for that at first I agreed, but I must say that after my third viewing of the film recently I've noticed that the overall feel of each film has been different. Music, to me, is directly related to emotions, and since the emotion that this film produced was very different from FOTR, it's necessary to have a different (darker) melody, or set of chord progressions that suit the needed emotion or mood.

There's my 2 cents on the positive side...
