Tolkien's Goal

I have just read two recent posts on this website. One deals with the president of my country being compared to Saruman. The other deals with a girl asking why there isn't diversity in the books. I think these people failed to see what Tolkien was all about. In my humble opinion, comparing Predident Bush to Saruman is absolutely absurd. Saruman was attacking FREE people. The people of Iraq are not free, and we are not attacking women and children. The US is going after Saddam and his henchmen. The people of Iraq cannot even cast a vote against Saddam or they end up missing. Saruman wanted power only and the dominion of man to end. How you can say that the United States is imperialistic is beyond me. If we wanted to, the US could OWN ALL OF EUROPE RIGHT NOW!! But, we decided to save them all twice (sometimes more) in the previous century. Enough about that, you get my point hopefully. And this girl asking for diversity, please. In case she failed to notice, hobbits, dwarves, men, and elves (plus some more) fought against the evil. These creatures are more unlike than any comparisons between human races. These peoples came together for a common cause, to defeat evil. There is your lesson: NO MATTER HOW DIFFERENT WE ARE, WE MUST UNITE IN ORDER TO DEFEAT EVIL (HINT: TERRORISTS LIKE SADDAM HUSSEIN) AND EVERYBODY HAS A PART TO PLAY FOR THE GOOD OF THE WORLD.
