March 15, 2003 Brego Even Strange Than That This is in response the question about Aragorn's horse Brego in the movie. Not only is it strange that this horse comes out of nowhere to wake Aragorn up by the river. It isn't even his actual horse from the book. In the book, Halbarad and the rangers bring down Aragorn's horse, Roheryn. Brego is a made up horse! If it is Aragorn's horse from the north, why would it not be named Roheryn, like in the book? Furthermore, why would it be named after a King of Rohan? It seems like a horse from Rohan would be named after a king of Rohan, and that would explain how Brego would have been close enough to come to Aragorn's aid by the River. But then how could it be Aragorn's horse, if it lives in Rohan? An interesting problem. Sorry if you were expecting an answer, rather than more questions. If anyone has any answers, please tell. |
