Response to Brett C. on Deleted Scenes
Peter D.

There was/is actually another version shot of the fellowships entry into Lothlorien. The one that made it into both the theatrical and the extended ed. are more or less the same, but a third and very different version entailed the fellowship being pursued towards and into the woods by a war-party from Moria, and the following slaughter of these orcs by a patrol of elves presumably borderguards in Lothlorien itself.

All this exists on film, but off course PJ and the rest had to choose one or the other, but as far as the possible extremely extended deluxe version of FotR sometime in the future, I too have heard rumors about that and that it just might leave room for additional scenes such as this one, or even made at a different age-rating with add. gore in the battle-scenes. Hehe!

P.S. In the early FotR-trailers there is actually a brief shot that may well be from this other version of the entry into Lorien - a quick glimpse of Aragorn and co in the background, where Aragorn looks out from behind a tree and only just avoids being hit by an arrow.
