As to Brego
A Very Merry Hobbit
I have seen TTT five times, and either I have a crappy memory (which could very likely be: correct me if I'm wrong) or something was messed up in the movie.
When Eomer summoned the horses, he said something like "Hasufel, Addock." (don't know how to spell the A name!). So Eomer couldn't have given him Brego there. But when he was riding with Eowyn and Gimli ("it's the beards" great line! anyway) he is still riding Hasufel.
And so where does Brego come from in the movie then? I think that was somewhat of a jump: a horse just shows up right when he was needed, and Aragorn calls him friend and off they ride to the Battle of Helms Deep. Hmmmm...
So, my question is (I feel like a hobbit giving a speech; "Get to the point!" you say. Well here goes!) if he got Brego in Rohan, as some of the posts are saying, when did he receive him? And if he was his life long friend, why wasn't he riding on him before? If Brego just decided to show up out of nowhere, I think he should have been Gandalf's horse.
Anyway, does anyone have any answers?
