Ison's TTT Reaction
Lothengriol

I'm rather new to this whole submitting articles thing, so I'm sorry if I've messed everything up as I suspect I have. But I MUST speak out! That fellow, Ison is what I assumed he called himself, said that FOTR was good. I agree: it was as good a movie adaptation as could ever be made (in my opinion). Then he said that TTT would not be as good, that it was a dissapointment, and that it didn't have the spirit of the book! I must protest! Although it is true I was less than pleased with the several (for it WAS severaly) changes they made to the original story, I do think that the spirit of the book did survive! That is why I liked it and why I still esteem it as a decent adaptation! Despite many changes, the old heart of the book remained. Also, Peter Jackson was not 'chained down by money and greed'!! Of COURSE he wants a profit! Directing is his JOB; HIS LINE OF WORK!! If he didn't worry about making money he would be a hoboe, and making money means pleasing the masses means changing the story a bit. Or a lot. But he kept the spirit! And I have total faith that the DVD will pull through. I also have read the Hobbit, the Trilogy, and the Silmarillion (not to mention Unfinished Tails, the Books of Lost Tails, and the Tolkien Reader) and I think that Jackson did nothing out of line. He respects the books but also has a living to keep, and I support him. Well. Now I'm done. Did I do this right?
