Re: Be Happy With What You Have
Danny

I agree in moderation to what was said. Anybody who has read Borne Identity, or Jurrassic Park knows what it is to have a book literally gutted and stuffed with invented material in the film. In both cases, I enjoyed the films, but it was because I was willing to watch them as a film and not hold them to the book's story. I understand how some people are bothered by changes, but I do also agree that we should be grateful for what has been done in TTT. I agree that the movie has been largely faithful to the book. Some would argue that some of the changes in TTT were dramatic inventions on PJs part. I for one agree that they were. However I also am willing to at least understand my perceived idea as to why the changes were made and to say that the film works well as a film. I think that fussing over differences in the book is an inevitable thing, and anybody with that outlook is bound to be dissapointed. It is impossible to adapt a book (especially one as complex and involved as LOTR) to film without changes. I have said it before, and will continue to say that each of us chooses wether we will enjoy the film or not. Those who are too stuck on the inevitable results of taking a book to film are simply depriving themselves of the enjoyment the film can be.
