Response to Lilly
Lotr

In response to your post about the changes made, I agree. That probably was a little thing that Peter or Fran or Phillipa threw in for that kind of purpose, but when I read your post, I wondered: How the heck you actually be "mad" at the changes?

You say were glaring at the screen, "fuming". Why? Do the changes really affect you so much? Faramir isn't a "bad guy" in the film. He's simply been changed to a more "iconic" man. A man who is so blinded with despair about his people (just like Boromir) that he doesn't realize what he's doing until Sam open's his eyes. He isn't bad!

There's nothin wrong with the Arwen stuff, it adds a lot of emotion where we need it, and we get to see the struggle the elves are facing alot more clearly than in the books.

I don't understand how you can actually be "mad" about the changes. Unwilling to accept them is fine, but mad? Do you actually have to sacrifice liking the movies, because a few parts were different from the book? I don't think so.
