Orc Cannabalism: Response to Lilly
Mithril Miner

There were actually a few posts asking the exact question that you asked, Lilly, though I don't recall any of them being answered.

In TT (book, of course!), when Ugluk and Grishnakh are arguing, one of the orcs says:

"...How do you like being called swine by the muck-rackers of a dirty little wizard? It's orc-flesh they eat, I'll warrant." And, yet, in ROtK the orc (I can't remember his name!) licks his sword after killing another orc.

What I conclude from this is: orcs are not cannibals, and shun the thought of it (it is obviously a BIG insult, seeing as how it starts a fight(though when you're with orcs, it's not that hard!). But an occasional sword licking (when you think you're alone: kind of like picking your nose!) isn't that bad.

What do ya'll think?
