Silmaril Similarities
Luke

Its probably been mentioned before, but I can't help noticing that after reading The Lord of the Rings Triligy and the Silmarillion, there seems to be a lot in common with the Silmarils and the One Ring. Example-in the Silmarillion Dwarfs are summoned (happily) by Thingol to merge a Silmaril with there beloved necklace. But once the job was completed, it seemed that the Silmaril took a hold of the Dwarfs and Thingol was slain on the spot. I am I crazy or can other people see these simalarities? Replys would be grateful. P.S I'm a huge Tolkien fan but people need to lighten up on Peter Jackson. The movies (so far) have been great and do the books justice.
