Questions on Elvish Pronunciation
Rosy Took

I have a few questions on Sindarin pronunciation;

First off, I have several conflicting sources on what Tolkien used for indicating a long vowel. Some say that he used í, so that Edhelchír would be pronounced ethel-chire (as in english ire). Another source (that I don't fully trust) says that there are no long vowels in Sindarin. Which one is right?

Another question: are Sindarin proper nouns affected by mutation?

Last one: is tôl pronounced long, as in the english toll ('the bell TOLLS one')? And if so, does that go for all the vowels with the little triangle thingy (sorry I'm not a linguist!) pronounced long?

I am so confused!
