In Response to Andrew's Thoughts on Harry Potter
Mithril Miner
Andrew, I have to disagree with you about The Chamber of Secrets and The Fellowship. In my opinion, FotR blows away Chamber of Secrets.
For one thing, when I watched the Fellowship I came away with the feeling that I had actually seen a good movie. I came away from Chambers sorely disappointed. For one thing, the music of Chambers stunk. It sounded too much like the first one (which I wasn't pleased with either: it went by way too fast, and it didn't capture the books at all). For another, the feelings in it weren't portrayed very well at all (no offense to the actors/actresses: they didn't have a very good script to work with). When I watched it, I knew that the actors were acting. I knew that it wasn't real. This does not happen in the Fellowship (or TT, which was the best movie out this christmas, I think!). When Boromir starts talking about Gondor, you can almost see the White Tower. And when Gandalf falls, you can feel that Frodo, Sam, Merry, and Pippin were utterly heart broken. Not once did I get the feeling in Chambers that Harry, Hermoine, or Ron was ever really scared or happy.
The Fellowship completely blows away any of the Harry Potter movies that exist or are yet to be made.
Counting down the days to RotK!!!
