Tolkien and C.S. Lewis
Sarah

Another thought about Quirk's article. About Tolkien not liking C.S. Lewis, that is very wrong. C.S. Lewis, Tolkien, and two other men were all part of a self-made 'club' called The Inklings. They met at a local restaurant quite often to read each other's writings. C.S. Lewis and Tolkien were close friends and appreciated each other's writings, even though they did have different styles(one was very into allegories, and the other was not at all). And, like Olwarz said, Tolkien was very instrumental in changing Lewis from a very strong atheist to a very strong Christian. Quirk, please get your facts straight from now on.

One other thing for those who have not read the Silmarillion. I mentioned Iluvater, and Olwarz mentioned Eru. They are the same being; Iluvater being the elvish name for Eru. Just in case anyone was confused about that.
