Ignorance Isn't Bliss
Danny

As I have said, I am a LOTR fan, and a very avid one at that. At the same time I enjoy Harry Potter and consider myself a fan. I resent it when a few 14 year old kids try and tell me that those who like Harry Potter aren't smart. Excuse me! It even chaffed me more when one of them said that they won't ever read it because it is stupid and poorly written. I am sorry, but passing such judgemental statements on a book without knowing what it says is the embodyment of stupidity and ignorance to me. Listening to those you call stupid and acting on their statements is foolish. Stating that nobody who really likes LOTR can like Harry Potter only enhances the foolishness of those statements. As a Tolkien fan, I have read the series around 10 times, and am working on it in a foreign language right now. I have composed over 20 art pieces related to Tolkien. So I think I could say that I really like LOTR. As an accademic, I graduated from high school with a 3.937 GPA having taken solely AP and Honors classes for my final three years. I am graduating from a university with a 3.7 GPA having studied under an accademic scholarship covering tuition. I have written a novel, and am working on another. But excuse me, I am stupid because I like Harry Potter. I don't mean to sound cocky, but my point is that some should watch their mouths (or in this case their typing fingers) before they speak about what they don't know. I guess it just goes to show that ignorance is not bliss.
