Questions That Need Answering!
Rosy Took

Okay, I posted these questions earlier, but since it was in the middle of the HP debate (holy cow, you people really go for the jugular! No offense, just an observation!). It never got a response, and I still have the questions, so here goes!

First off, I have several conflicting sources on what Tolkien used for indicating a long vowel in Sindarin. Some say that he used í, so that Edhelchír would be pronounced ethel-chire (as in english ire). Another source (that I don't fully trust) says that there are no long vowels in Sindarin. Which one is right?

Another question: are Sindarin proper nouns affected by mutation?

Last one: is tôl pronounced long, as in the english toll ('the bell TOLLS one')? And if so, does that go for all the vowels with the little triangle thingy (sorry I'm not a linguist!) pronounced long?

I am so confused!
