Eowyn's Kill
G

Annatar, it has been a while since I read the passage of Return of the King in which the Witch King was slain but as I remember it I agree with you, Merry wounded the enemy, but it was Eowyn who dealt the fatal blow. After the time spent by Jackson in TTT establishing Eowyn as a warrior-in-waiting there is little doubt in my mind that this is how things will happen in the film.

It actually saddens me to say that because Merry is my personal favourite character from the book and I would dearly love to see him take full credit. It must, therefore, be pointed out that without Merry's blow, Eowyn would not have been able to finish the Witch King off. In fact, if I remember correctly, the Nazgul was about to kill Eowyn and it was Merry's attack that saved her.
