A Story for Lilly
Manofwesternesse
Lilly, a good question to ask , and hopefully you get a few responses on it.
For myself, I live on the north-west coast of Ireland. My introduction to Tolkien came at age 16 from an older cousin who returned from Scotland, immersed in Lord of The Rings. He loaned me the Book and I’ve never looked back since.
(Hey Mike, are you out there in this forum, masquerading under one of these pseudonym’s?).
That was a good 25 years ago. I’ve read LotR a few times since then (I make it 18 at last reading – a weird thing to keep a count of, did’nt at first but after a few years made an estimate & now note the date on the inside cover! Sometimes wonder if that’s clever…. Or pathetic?).
Have read the Hobbit about half a dozen times (a nice little book in its own right, with some useful background), Silmarillion & Unfinished tales maybe twice?
Got hooked into this forum sometime after release of the first Film. Just read other peoples contributions for a good while & then started posting a few bits. It’s great to see the interest & enthusiasm involved in the debate here. (Will we all disappear after RotK?)
