Religious Influence on Tolkien
Imran H.

Having read the books recently I have come to the conclusion that the whole journey through Middle-Earth is a deeply spiritual one. It has deep rooted ethics, knowledge of higher power, elements of evil and temptation counter balanced by sacrifice and bravery. Tolkien who embarked on creating a myth, may have stumbled on something greater- a sense of good and rightousness challanging evil and corruption. This common battle was fought also by Islam, Chistianity and Judaism. Therefore it can be also interperated as being an extention of those religious beliefs.
