Saruman Speculation
G
As far as I am concerned, there is little doubt that Saruman's death in RotK will come at the hands of Wormtongue as was the case in the book.
How exactly this happens is, to me, somewhat irrelevant but what is important is at what point of the story it will happen and what will then happen to Wormtongue.
I can think of three possibilities in terms of the time of death. It could happen at the start of the film after Gandalf instructs the Ents to keep them prisoner in Isengard, or perhaps when the party meet them en route back to Rivendell (this would work best in my opinion). Or, horror of horrors, the filmmakers may decide to add excitement to the Grey Havens scene at the end of the movie.
As for Wormtongue, he can either kill himself or, in a reference to the scouring of the shire, he could be killed by one of the hobbits. What do you think?
Oh, and a belated happy birthday to Lilly.
