More Arwen & Undying Lands Talk
Lilly

I don't think Aragorn and Arwen's children got to choose between mortality and immortality...but I'm not sure. I'm not allowing myself to look in the books. Actually, I'm not even sure how many children they had. Didn't they only have one son?
Can't remember...

Anyhow, I think he just had to be mortal...after all, the heir to the throne of Gondor had to be a man: otherwise all the talk about Man inheriting the Earth after the Elves have gone would be a bunch of junk.

another thing: HOW was Gimli allowed to go to the Undying lands? Sure, he was Legolas' friend and head-over-heels for Galadriel, but that's no reason. I mean, Merry and Pippin were Frodo and Sam's good friends and they weren't allowed to follow them. Rosie was Sam's wife and she couldn't go! Frodo and Bilbo and Sam were only allowed to go because they were old Ringbearers in need of rest...Gimli's going seems too...oh, I don't know...easy? Simple? Unfair? I mean, it makes everything more 'happy-endish'; I was glad to find out that the dear old dwarf was happily continuing is odd friendship with Legolas, but I would have been just as happy if they all had been able to go. Or better yet, if poor Sam and Frodo were able to stay!

Oh, well. Yours.

~Lilly
