Okay peoples.
(Especially lilly. Girl, you get on my nerves)
Frodo and Sam would NEVER have stayed in hobbiton when they could have gone across the sea to find rest. The point of the whole story is that Frodo really DID give his life for the cause; he was never able to live a normal life again. He couldn't go back to the old way of doing things, because inside, he was sort of, well, (sniff) dead.
Do you remember that part in the Fellowship where Gandalf forsees something about Frodo? I believe he said something about him turning out to be like a bubble: empty inside, because he gave it all to save the world.
The point is, I don't think any of us would've kept the poor ringbearer at home in torment if he could've left and found peace.
And as to this discussion board... can we PLEASE stick to the movies just a little bit more? I am dying for some real news about ROTK, but instead have only seen a dizzying array of Lilly, Lilly, Lilly, and G.
