Immortality

Here is a question about Elvish immortality: Since Arwen was an Elf and Aragorn was a Man, then would their children get to pick whether to be among Elves or Men, or would the immortality be lost in their line forever? Technically speaking, wasn't Arwen Half-Elven, and Aragorn a little bit Elvixh? About Elrond, wasn't he Half-Elven, therefore making Elladan, Elrohir and Arwen not fully Elven? Is it true that if a Elf would give up their immortality that they could give it to someone else? Another question: what happened to Gimli after he passed over the Sea? Did he gain immortality?
