Elves at the Deep
I've Misplced My Pants

i've been reading alot from people about the elves who fought at elves deep. Now what i've heard is that Jackson did this in good reason. In the book Sauron sends a force to Lothlorien if i'm not mistaken and the elves fight and beat this host. Galadriel then goes to Dol Golder and throws down its walls. Now this would've been pretty cool to see in a movie, but it simply would not have fit. So to show that the elves actually did something in this war he had them fight at Helms Deep. Its the only way people would've known they did anything at all. I would bet Jackson is gonna have the elves appear at the seige of Gondor and the Battle of the Black Gates as well. BTW this is just my theory on the matter don't cite me on it.
