Is Nothing Sacred?
G

Having read Annatar's concerns regarding Minas Morgul' potential absence from RotK (I don't think you have anything to worry about - Minas Morgul has already been seen once in Fellowship and if Jackson has the miniatures already why not use them?), I would like to suggest that Tolkien's map of Middle-Earth should have been the one thing that was never altered for the movies. Middle Earth is to me like the heartbeat of the whole story and there is no need to mess with it.

I probably wouldn't have minded Faramir's map leaving out Minas Morgul so much but I've found another, greater offence on the interactive map on the etended Fellowship DVD. Rather than tell you what this is I ask those of you with close knowledge of the map and access to this DVD (I guess that's most of you) to look for it yourselves. If you find nothing amiss then I will accept that my reaction has been a little over the top but I think amost of you will agree with my opinion that something has been altered (possibly without the knowledge of the great Mr Jackson - lets not blame him without evidence) thjat should, in the name fstaying true to Tolkien, have been left well alone.

Finally, Annatar, aren't you supposed to be a kind of evil guy (you know, Dark Lord and all)? It is good to see that even you are willing to stick up for Lilly (a self-confessed hobbit lover) and Lilly, seeing as there have been so many voices in your support, please do listen to Annatar and the others. Ignore Pip and continue posting.

Yours,
G.
