TTT Extended News? Or Not?
Imlar

Well, there's been lots of requests for news about ROTK since we're all dying to see it, but here's a few speculations about The Two Towers DVD, which I assume will be coming out in November. See, I went to the Site suggested by Piper (days ago by now) about the upcoming speculated changes, and it was very interesting. Then I went down to the changes for TTT. It's funny seeing possible changes that now that we've seen the movie we know are/aren't true, but what I'm wondering, is maybe those changes that WEREN’T in the movie can give us some insight on what could possibly be in the extended version of the film, if they weren’t cut altogether, if ever filmed at all!!!? So here’s what MIGHT and just MIGHT be---cuz there’s really no way to know---in the extended edition...

(Based on: http://www.tolkienonline.com/movies/changes_ttt.cfm)
--hope the link works!--

Could there possible be:

1)"As Gollum stares at the sleeping hobbits, there is a flashback of Déagol finding the Ring and Sméagol killing him for it." This would be cool...

2)The sewers of Osgiliath–maybe a bit more about how Frodo and Faramir got to Osgiliath...more sewer scenes...dark and dank and scary–twould be good for settin the mood.

3)Perhaps a bit more about Boromir’s death...will Faramir find the horn? I think it would be nice to show more of the link between Faramir and his older brother

4)The site strongly suggests that Arwen, and a bunch of Elves actually went to Lothlorien and that Arwen sees Aragorn’s death in Galadriel’s mirror and Elrond helps convince to send Elven archers to Helm’s Deep. I think it’s obvious that Peter Jackson forsook this storyline, but I think maybe we’ll see a bit more reasoning as to how the Elves ended up being there—who knows!?

5)I’ve been told that there will be more of Pippin and Merry’s storyline with the Ents, and I think that is quite probable... look forward to it!

6)Merry and Pippin visit Isengard storeroom–that’s what it says, but I have a feeling that might be in the 3rd movie if it comes up at all....

Anyhow, I don’t know how much of this was truly new to any of you, but I hope it was useful to someone! As for my opinion, I too believe it would have been nice if Jackson had brought in Elladan and Elrohir, and it would have given him more room to stay truer to the books, but hey what can I say. There are things I don’t like, especially in The Two Towers, which people have complained intensely about in the past, but I like you’ve all said, Jackson’s made an incredible movie, and cheers...it’s been 50 years we’ve been waiting for this (the cartoon versions don’t count, I’m sorry)–well, I’m not sure we’ve ALL been around that long..but... Oh ya, and it was neat to hear of other Christians on the forum:)
Anyways, keep it all up guys and gals!
