Rohirric
Jarrickon Falconn

Piper, Tolkien used the Anglo-Saxon (Old English) tongue for Rohirric. According to the tale that he translated the Middle-earth mythology from the Red Book of Westmarch, he turned the language it was "originally written in (Westron)" into English, and likewise the language of Rohan into Anglo-Saxon. It is likely he did this because the original Rohirric would have the same relationship to Westron as Old English has to English. For example:

Anglo-Saxon: Hobytla (translation- hole-builder)
English: Hobbit

Also, about the Hobbit meal issue, I think the actual meals were-

Breakfast
Second Breakfast
Elevenses
Luncheon
Dinner
Supper

Afternoon Tea would be more of a snack than a meal, although pretty much all Hobbits indulge in it. As to who would want six meals a day, obviously someone with a hyperactive metabolism (aka Periannath).

Namárië!
