The Sons of Elrond
G

Re-reading RotK, I have noticed that at no time are the sons of Elrond described as being elves (so far at least, but I'm almost finished), and at one point I think they were even referred to as men (though not Men, if there is a difference). Legolas, who actually does a good bit less than Elladan and Elrohir, is constantly referred to as "The Elf" whenever he appears. Also, when Imrahil first meets Legolas (and I'm sure he's already met Elladan and Elrohir by this point) he is amazed to see an Elf walking the streets of Minas Tirith. Anyway, my question is this: given the evidence above, is it possible that the Half-Elven twins have already made their choice of which race to belong to and have chosen to be mortal Men?

G.
