Now, Now, Samwise
Anteru

Let's get this straight. I truly do not believe that Harry Potter can even be near The Lord of the Rings on a list of great literary works. And I have not (yet) found any of the Harry Potter series to be more touching or heart-wrenching or more beautifully written or anything of the such as much as LotR. I haven't read the new HP book, but I plan to just to see how Rowling's work has progressed. I haven't made a prediction on my opinion of it, and don't plan to until I read it. What you said (perhaps not what, but how) struck a nerve. I cannot stand to have people criticize that which they have not tried. The way you automatically assumed that this new book cannot be nearly as "moving" as LotR causes you to live up to your name..."half-wit." Piece of friendly advice: don't make assumptions (on anything) without first trying it. Sorry if I came across as being a pain in the neck, but like I said, you struck a nerve. Just to reinforce my position, LotR remains (to this day) my favorite literary work. If anything changes my opinion (unlikely but possible), then I will be shocked.
