Exasperation!
Mr. Underhill
I take a little break from the debate, and what happens? Harry vs. LOTR (again!) and doubts as to Aragorn's Age? What is going on?
To Set the Record Straight:
Aragorn's Age is found in Appendix B of Return of the King.
It states that he was born in 2931 of the 3rd Age.
The events that occur in the movies take place during the years 3018 & 3019 of the 3rd Age.
Do the Math and you have Aragorn's Age. 87 at the beginning of the quest, and 88 at his coronation. He may be 87 throughout most of the quest and even at the coronation depending on his birthday, which isn't stated. Hope this settles things.
As to my favorite cast member it would definitely have to be Ian McKellen's Gandalf. He is such a terrific actor and really hit the role spot-on!
Hobbitly Yours,
(Undehill... my name's Underhill)
PS. Please let's kill the Potter vs. LOTR discussion before we get started all over again with a very Hairy (sorry bad pun) debate.
