HP, Casting, Aragorn
Tiniowien

Thank you, G. I'm afraid I wrote my "ready to fight" post at 11:00 at night just after reading Order of the Phoenix (not thinking straight). However I am insulted, and wish people would stop saying Harry Potter is not as deep or powerful. Keep in mind these are children's books! LOTR is not, may never be hugely popular with children because it is difficult and almost boring. I struggled with FOTR as an 11 year old, and while I did care about the characters and the story, I was not interested enough to continue reading. I only continued reading after I saw the movies. They bring it to life for me and I appreciate the books much more.
Which brings me to casting: I may be biased, being female, but I loved casting! I love Arwen, and I especially love the guys! Hunky, hunky guys! Frodo is about 50 in the books, but 21 yr old Elijah Wood, with big blue eyes, is wonderful onscreen. Viggo Mortensen kicks butt, overcomes that greasy hair and I can't wait for him to be King. And don't get me started on Legolas. While he is quite different from the books, watching lithe, limber Orlando Bloom onscreen is a joy. Again, as a hormonal female I am rather biased. But I can no longer see the characters as anything but.
Okay, now my hormones are up. Before I sign off and go on a Legolas fansite , it says in the appendices that Aragorn is around 90. I don't know where anyone found his exact age, though.
